The properties are approximately 6 minutes drive from the picturesque medieval hilltop village of Castelnau de Montmiral.  The village has a lovely arcaded square and has a Boulangerie, Pharmacie, Poste, Epicerie and Bar/Restaurant. The very attractive and interesting old town of Gaillac is approximately 12 minutes drive from the property; it has some lovely shops, a busy and lively Friday morning market and two large out of town supermarkets.
Nearby are several other superb bastide villages and ancient château ruins.   The historic town of Albi is also nearby; it has a magnificent cathedral and a fascinating Art Gallery in an old palace featuring the work of Toulouse Lautrec.

The surrounding countryside is varied, beautiful. inspiring and wonderful for walks and cycling and is renowned for its wildlife, wild flowers and vineyards (many are open for tasting and buying, including Gaillac Château Wines). 

The property is down a  winding stone lane, well away from any roads and on its own in a lovely rural valley with pretty views and surrounded by peaceful meadows and woodland.
